Portside Interiors is founded by partners Gene Guindon and Oskar Eriksson. Gene has worked in the furniture industry since his early twenties for a number of furniture retailers. Oskar, born and raised in Scandinavia, has a background in landscape design. Together Gene and Oskar have a long experience in a wide range of design fields, ranging from graphic design to Urban Design.

Gene’s approach is rooted in detail. He pays close attention to wood grains, silhouettes, fabrics, and finishes, ensuring that each piece resonates with timeless quality and subtle character. His vision for Portside Interiors extends beyond product to atmosphere — creating interiors that feel editorial yet livable, moody yet inviting, modern yet grounded in natural textures.

Jared Gillam is a design consultant and project manager at Portside Interiors, where his role bridges the creative and the practical. He works closely with clients to bring their vision to life — guiding them through furniture selections, interior layouts, and the details that turn a space into something personal and complete. In the showroom, Jared is a trusted resource, known for his ability to listen, advise, and help customers find pieces that feel both beautiful and true to their homes.
Originally from Toronto, Jared moved west to Vancouver over five years ago, drawn by the landscape and lifestyle that now inform his approach to design. He brings with him not only a sharp eye for interiors but also a passion for photography. His architectural photographs, rich in composition and detail, echo the same qualities he values in design — balance, atmosphere, and perspective.
At Portside Interiors, Jared’s work reflects his versatility: part consultant, part manager, part creative collaborator. Whether he’s styling a space, coordinating a project, or helping a customer find the perfect piece, he approaches it with care, insight, and an appreciation for design that is both functional and inspiring.
